FOUNDATION

I onced supervised a house project in the village and I noticed how tedious it was to build the foundation.

In fact it is one of the most painstaking aspect of building a house.

Despite all the effort put in to build it, it's later covered with concrete when done, no one sees it or talk about it.

The only time you'll hear people talk about it is when the building falls or have cracks. At that time everyone seems to fault the foundation of the building.

Because a foundation has to be built strong enough so it can carry the weight of anything it was designed for.

Maybe you are presently at that stage of building your own life's foundation.

It will definitely be tough, painstaking, tasking and hard to build, but it is necessary because it will be the very foundation that will hold you up for the rest of your life.

So, I'll urge you to make yours stronger.

When we marvel at beautiful edifice note that their foundations were even deeper to hold what you and I admire.

It all depends on how you want it.

Make it stronger.

In the course of building yours, you'll feel the pain or the nudge to give up, when you feel such, path yourself on the back and say, "My future self will thank me. I need to go through these necessary process in order to enjoy my success."

When you start seeing the pain, stress and hard work you put in this way, they won't look burdensome or overwhelming to you rather something you need to do to get to where you have always dream of.

It has to be hard so it can support the weight of whatever you could dream of for yourself.

So, whatever challenge or struggle you're been going through are there to prepare you for what's coming especially your dreams.

I know you dream of a beautiful and magnificent edifice.

So, embrace it wholeheartedly because you can and you'll be glad you did.

TAKE A STEP

Every expert you know or you've seen or heard of irrespective of his/her field or expertise was once an amateur who barely could find their footing.

That prolific writer that you marveled at each of his work, was once finding it difficult to make out something with words.

That outstanding public speaker, was once so afraid, nervous and shy like a cat.

That amazing artist at one time couldn't make anything appealing on their canvas.

That very successful business wo(man) was once trying just to get by and survive.

Today, their stories has changed.

They never achieved those laudable individual feat in the twinkling of an eye.

It took time, patience, perseverance and persistence, and consistency in whatever endeavor they engaged in until they hit gold mine. Most importantly, they took the first step and they are still improving by the day.

What am i trying to say is that success in life is in stages.

You'll get there eventually, not all at once, but a step at a time.

So embrace the process (ups & downs, delays and disappointments, rejections) wholeheartedly. It's part of the journey.

It makes no sense competing so hard just to gain relevance (vain glory), rather focus on working on self.

In fact your top priority should be to improve on the man/woman you were yesterday, maintaining your lane while doing it and be consistent.

Time will definitely come that you don't need to introduce yourself, your work and services will do the talking for you and they will be the ones to introduce themselves to you.

Take that leap of faith with your first step and see a whole new world open for you.

BREAK FREE

"If you want to kill a dream, vision or an idea tell it to a small minded person." They will shoot it down because they can’t see it as you do.

In fact, sometimes people will tell you what you can’t do or accomplish because they don’t see themselves achieving it.
Here is an advice: You need to break free from such people. They are limited in their minds. Note, these set of people can be anyone. It could be a close relative or a friend.
You really need to break free from sharing your dreams with such people, especially those one that each time you share an idea, a new way of doing things or a business idea you are willing to explore but they are quick to tell you 5 reasons that your idea won’t work.
If Tummy Tummy Noodles were looking were looking at how other Noodles were doing in the market and used that as an excuse for not starting their brand would they be where they are now? NO!
It is the same with Fibi sausage roll and many other new brands we see today in the market, despite the competition in the market they came out unique, and today they are household commodities Nigerian’s can’t do without.
The point I am driving at is this, stop telling or listening to these kind of friends or relatives that always want to thwart that your idea. They just want you to remain at that their level.
“Stagnant Entities” is what I call them. Year in year out their lives are always the same, no form of progress whatsoever. Is that the kind of person you should be listening to? They don’t worth it. Anyway, you can keep them as acquaintance if you choose.
Let your success shock them to the bone to the extent they will be the one to start telling others; “…that guy/lady na my paddy o”, “we lived in the same street”, “we come from the same village”, "yen yen bla bla."
Keep your dreams alive, they are valid. If you could conceive the idea you can achieve them and make them a reality by your actions, strategies, doggedness, determination, commitment and perseverance to see it through.
Our world today is ruled by ideas. New inventions, concepts and breakthroughs all emanates from an idea. So never let yours (ideas) die because of what one or two friends said.
Most of the great business mogul we see today started with just an idea and by following it through. You’re of no difference. You too can achieve whatsoever you set your mind and heart to.
So go on my friend and be all that you can be because you can!

YOU ARE ENOUGH! (How to stop comparing YOURSELF with anyone on SOCIAL MEDIA)

"Every minute you spend wishing you had
someone else's life is a minute spent wasting yours."

That very moment you left her/his social medal wall did you feel inadequate? Did you feel you deserve that same thing they have? Did you ask yourself, why not me? Did you feel like you're not enough? Did you feel less of yourself?

If your answer is yes to any of these, then you have a big problem. You're simply comparing your reality to their highlights.

It's not the best way to live, because that act of comparing yourself to what you see on social media is so counterproductive. It messes you up. It makes you feel anxious, troubled and disturbed. It puts unnecessary pressure on yourself to measure up. It breeds envy and it's a sure path to fall into depression.

My friend the only person you should compare yourself with is man or woman you were a day before. Not them(Social media friends), not anyone but who you are previously.

The thing is that life is a journey not a destination. Your timing is much different than theirs. We're on different Lanes in this journey. Your job is is to remain focus on yours and keep working to improve. Yes, their grass maybe greener, keep watering yours. All seems well with them, don't worry you'll get there eventually. Everything happens with time and seasons likewise blessings.

When next you see them showcasing one achievement or the other, go there and say a hearty congratulations to the person and add I am so happy for you, I am glad you're so happy my dear. And move on to the next.

Resist that temptation of tapping into it, shouting I am next in line. Wishing why not me? Asking yourself, what am I doing wrong? What is wrong with me? Do they have two heads? Is my own world worst? Where is my God?

Querying yourself this way will never bring out the best in you rather it give you many more negatives that would dampen your spirit and make you feel less of yourself. Our minds tend to dwell more on the negatives. This is one aspect of your life you need to get hold of and tell it to focus on the positives.

You are not them!
You are you.
You are enough.
We're all unique in our different ways.

Maintain your lane at your own pace, it's the best place to be. Though you can ask how they pulled it through and replicate it in your own journey but not wishing you are them.

So stop mindless comparison. It does more harm than good. Stop living to prove anyone wrong or to tell people that you have arrived. Live your best life as much as you can not for them but for you. Stop letting what you see here dictate your life for you. Stop using their lives as a yardstick for yours. Some don't even care and you're killing yourself to measure up.

Is that the best way to live?
I am sharing this because I love you and I want the best for you.
Also note that there are no perfect humans out there, we've all got stint of flaws...if not many, despite the perfectism many portray here(social media).

Therefore, stop ruining your life with the feeling of inadequacy from what you see here, although there are positives to pick here, just do your best and leave the rest, you'll be alright.

Your own set time is coming. You're enough. Keep doing the best you can in all areas of your life and enjoy every moment of this journey.

MattCares is rooting for you, and I can assure you it will end well when you stop wishing you are them and embrace yourself wholeheartedly and choose to be better than the person you were the day before.

One love

Sniper is not KILLING people!!!

If not that we were indoctrinated while growing up that if you take your own life you will go straight to hell, the rate of suicides in Nigeria would've been so alarming. I must tell you, that's only what is holding a lot of folks not to end it all. It has gotten that worst. Most of the suicide cases we hear occasionally are  of folks who damned the consequence.

Phew...

Some people are of the opinion to ban "Sniper." To tell you the truth, Sniper is not what is killing these people, there's more to it than just banning that substance.

Banning that substance is more like treating just the surface symptoms. If we ban it, people would find other means to die.

Instead of clamouring to ban Sniper, we should focus on getting rid of the root cause of people commiting suicide in our society. These we can do. It is a collective work.
So how can we do this?

First, we need to practice 'empathy' in our respective lives. Reach out to people around you and offer help in any way you can to alleviate what they're passing through. I must tell you smiles conceal a lot. Beautiful picture upload hides people suffering deeply. Many are hurting and dying silently. Some are at the brink of taking sniper. Life has become so meaningless and distasteful for them.

So when next you ask someone "How are you", enclose in a bracket: "Be Sincere". I believe this would open them up to pour out what's really going on in their lives. And when they do, please don't abuse it, do what you can. What you can do might be to offer monetary gift, material, a piece of information, a piece of advice, recommendation, a listening ear, shoulder to lean on, an encouragement, wise counsel, little care etc. Anything you can do please do. Your little act of empathy and kind words can uplift their spirits and give them a glimpse of hope to hold on to life and thus, heal the very causes of suicide.

Secondly, I'll call on parents, teachers and the clergy to teach people under their care how to handle rejection, a no, disappointments, failures, heartbreaks, difficulties and set-backs. It is evident that as we go through life we'll be faced with one of any these one time in our life. Teach them to understand that this Life is not all about succeeding or it being always easy.

There would be days we'll fail, your plans won't work out, whether you're religious or not. These are harsh realities of life.  If they are equipped with these facts, when it eventually happens, frustrations wouldn't kick in, depression would be so far away from them.

When one is equipped with the right knowledge on how to handle these life's inevitable circumstances, they'll do much better not to let it get to them or make them slide into depression that might lead one to consider suicide. A person with this knowledge will understand whatsoever pain or situations they're going through is only but a phase, it will pass too.

Finally, is there something troubling your mind? Are you feeling depressed? Seek help. Seek for a therapist or a doctor. Speak to a friend. Stop dying silently. Don't let shyness or shame deprive you of help. There are people willing to help but they can't read your mind. When you speak out you get helped. There is this soothing relief that comes from airing out what's troubling you. Suicide don't end pain. Hold on pain ends. Your life can get better again. Things can turn round for good. It will only take a while. Please choose life over suicide. I'm always here anytime you need a friend.

It is our collective job to end this scourge in our midst before it gets worst. I call on you to help out as much as you can. Let's collectively be "the saving grace(s)" of people around us. Show genuine love, care and concerns and you'll forever remain blessed.

Thank you for accepting to do the best you can to make our world free from suicides.

Much love from #MattCares😊

Your Little is Enough

You can't save the whole world of its problems. But you can do so much in your little corner.

You can't feed all of the hungry mouths in your country. But you can feed that single neighbor of yours who's dying of hunger.

You can't send all of the out of school children in your state back to school. But you can bring smiles to a single child's life by helping her get education.

You can't help all of the people nursing suicidal thoughts in your community. But your listening ear, encouraging words, and helping hands could be all that just one need to choose life over ending it all.

You can't help everyone, but the little you could do is enough.

Yes, it is enough.

Because when you do your little and I do mine, it will culminate into something great and massive. Thus, making an impact in our world positively.

Never turn down a chance to make a difference in someone's life no matter how little it could be. You might be their "saving grace!"

People might easily forgot what you did but they'll never forget how you make them feel. Take every chance you have to make that impression on their hearts. It will remain indelible.

We are all invited to make our world a little bit better than we met it. Let's do this wholeheartedly for our own good, and that of our future generation.

Much love from #MattCares 😊.

Do Not Focus on Your Goals

Do you want to achieve your 2019 goals?
If your answer is yes, then, DO NOT FOCUS on them!

Yes, you heard me right, don't focus on your goals!

I know right now in your mind you might be thinking this is the most ridiculous thing i've heard this year.

Just calm down I will tell you why I said that...just flow with me.

Every goal you set is something out of you. In essence, they are not part of you and not within your reach at that moment in time. That is to say they are not within your control. And focussing on what's not within your control is a futile and fruitless  mission all together. Same thing happens when you focus on your goals. It's the very reason that makes a lot of folks set beautiful goals but at the end they don't achieve any.

Notwithstanding, in order to achieve your goals this year you MUST redirect your focus on your BEHAVIOURS and not the goal itself. This is so because your behavior is within your control, you can dictate to it what you want it to do or not to do.

Let me illustrate an example to further buttress my point; Take for instance, one of  your top goals is to lose 30 pounds by July this year. To achieve this you need to break it down to actionable steps. Let's say the steps you decided to take are; less calories intake daily, take 6 or more glasses of water, take a 30-40 minutes walk every evening before meals, no late nights meals, hit the gym twice  weekly and spend 2 hours for each session etc

These above action plans are some of the steps you must take to actualize that goal of yours. To be able to do any of these all boils down to your behavior. By subjecting and disciplining yourself to stick to these routines consistently in order to actualize that goal of shedding some weight.

As you can see everything lies on your BEHAVIOURS and not the goal in itself. Your behavior is within your control, you can tell it to adapt and it will oblige. That should be your focus, and I promise you all your goals will become a reality within the timeframe you set for it.

Don't focus on your goals in its entirety but rather focus on your day to day BEHAVIOURS that would eventually culminate into that very goal of yours. For it is those little things you do consistently daily that adds up to become that goal you so desire.

So ask yourself, since my behavior is within my control;

How should I start behaving from today in order to actualize my goals this year?

Which of my behaviours that are not helping me must I delete and never repeat?

Answer yourself genuinely and do the needful immediately, no time.

This principle is applicable in every area of your life. Apply it and thank me later.

Do have the best of the week.

NEVER BEG FOR LOVE

NEVER BEG SOMEONE TO LOVE YOU

Don't ever let anyone make you think or feel that you can't live on without them.

Never give them that power over you, because when you do, they exploit it and treat you like trash.

Love is not something you need to beg someone for.

If He/She wants to bounce, then let them bounce!

See it as their own loss, not yours for losing someone wonderful and amazing like you!

If you know your true worth, you'll never beg anyone stay who no longer want to be part of your life anymore. In fact, it is a blessing in disguise. Their leaving will open doors to important and interesting people who know your value.

See, life is way too amazing and short to waste time with people who don’t treat you right or value your worth.

Yes, you might feel hurt and heartbroken when they go. Do not worry, you'll be fine and even get better in a short while. Stop every form of communication with them, the feeling will gradually phase out

Get yourself together and forge ahead.

Move on!

Prove them wrong that your existence isn't dependent on them.

Live your life, and be everything that you can be, because you can.

You deserve better!

Overcoming Shyness

"I'm shy."

"I am always shy."

Have you found yourself saying the above statements, if yes, I have a message for you.

My friend, you were never born that way. It is what you learnt over time, probably from your upbringing. But the good news here is you can unlearn it and embrace confidence and do away with all forms of shyness. Shyness deprives you a whole lot of things and shouldn't be encouraged.

See why you're feeling shy:

1. You don't feel like you're enough or worthy.

2. You don't feel like you have anything meaningful to say in midst of people.

3. You are much concerned about what others think of you. That you choose to act in shyness.

4. You are afraid not to make mistake(s) thus you don't do anything at all.

 5. You don't trust or believe in yourself enough.

6. You're magnifying one or more of your weaknesses, let it overshadowing your strengths.

These are few root causes of your shyness.

Now to deal with this decisively start doing the following gradually.

1. Accept yourself for who you are. Other people's opinions don't define you. Accept yourself wholeheartedly. You're enough and worthy. You are useful. Accept it.

2. Be self aware. That is stop thinking that people are looking at you. To tell you truth everyone is busy. Do not let it bother you a bit. Many of them don't care about your looks or what you say so don't let it worry you.

3. Enhance your strength.
Keep focusing on what you love doing and do them often, it will boost your self confidence.

4. Take good care of yourself. Your body, mind and health-wise. Very important.

5. Practice talking
Use your mirror... Ask yourself questions and answer them. (*) I will help you with few tips.

6. Start focusing on others by paying attention and asking thought provoking questions.

7. Take a deep breath slowly, it will help you relax your muscle when you speak.
Focus on the moment (words, expressions, voice and tones)

8. Make eye contact when someone is talking or you're speaking. It will boost your confidence.

Doing these will stop you from being shy. It is a gradual process. Remember, you learned how to be shy over time, unlearning it wouldn't be a days job. But your continuous efforts and determination will eventually lead you to live above shyness. You're born to be courageous and confident, quit living a timid life. Be more!!!

Afterthought (*)

When you meet a new person in a new enviroment.
Say (maintaining eyes contact):

"Hi, I don't think I've met you before. I'm (add your name). How about you?"

Then let the conversation flow. Ask simple questions such as:

"Are you new here?"

"How was your day?"

"What are you passionate about?"

"What do you love about your job/work/business?"

"What bring smiles to your face?"

"How's life treating you?"

"What is your favorite _____(Add anything you wish to know)?"

"Where do you see yourself few years from now?"

Etc

Please study the environment (very important) before asking.

All the best.

Depression can be Healed

"He must be stupid and foolish!"
"How could he do such?!"
Does he know what I am passing through? Did I kill myself?
"Make God punish his dead body, nonsense coward."

These are the thoughts of some typical Nigerians when they hear that someone took his or her life. To them it looks so absurd, and nothing can justify their act.

But, to tell you the truth not everyone is like you. Not everyone can handle pain, hurt, rejection, separations, disappoinment or shame. Not everyone has the kind of shock absorber your heart have to take heartbreaks. Not everyone can handle lack. Also mental health disorders issues is real.

When such folks face any of these issue due to their inability to handle it they soon slide into depression. And depression is a silent deadly killer that can happen to anyone, and when not properly manage can lead to suicidal thoughts to end it all.

If such person going through all or any of these is not met on time it will definitely end in suicide. That does not in any way means they are selfish, stupid or a coward. It's their nature. You've got to accept them that way and empathize with them.

It's for this reason that you should take it upon yourself to reach out to people close you whether related or not. Genuinely ask them how they are doing and their well-being.

Offer to help either by giving a listening ear, advice, recommending a therapist, financial support or otherwise if the need be. Don't let the smiling face and beautiful pictures on social fool you. Don't let the display of wealth also fool you.

Many are dying silently. Depression can happen to anyone irrespective of their social class. And when someone tells you he or she is depressed for any reason, please don't be insensitive to their plight, make a jest of it or ignore them. Instead hear them out and be attentive to what they have to say. Let them pour out their heart to you. Your listening ear and encouraging words might be their saving grace. Don't deny them that. Doing this is a little way of making a difference in life.

For those who are going through one form of depression or the other. Endeavour to reach out to a trusted friend (I can be that friend for you). Don't be shy about it. Speak up! We can't read minds. They're thousand and one persons who wants to help you but don't know what you are going through. It is when you speak out that help would come.

Don't bear the burden alone. Pain ends. There's still hope as long as you live. Better days are ahead of you. You're important and worthy. You're valuable. You're useful and meaningful. If it didn't work out today, it will tomorrow. You can live on without her/him. I still love and cherish you with my whole heart. Don't throw in the towel yet. Suicide is not the best way out, you can still overcome whatsoever that is troubling your mind. Silence those voices in your head telling you to end it all with positive affirmations. You'll be alright I can promise you that.

#MattCares is always here for you. Yes I am, because I cherish, love and value you so much and I want the best for you. Reach out to me anytime you need a friend to talk to about anything without being judged. I'll do my best to see you smile.

Thank you for choosing life over suicide.

Turn your Adversity To Truimph

I read about a 16 years old girl who was very vocal about given the girl-child equal opportunity of going to school in her country.

One day, while she was coming back from school, some gunmen's stopped her school bus, asked after her in particular and then shot her in the head and some of her friends too.

She managed to survive that horrendous incident and was back on her feet again through helps from different corners of the world.

That particular incident never silenced her. Rather, it amplified her voice even more to the extent that today she's one of the world's top most strong advocate for children education and peace.

Her unrelenting works as an activist earned her a NOBEL PEACE award. The youngest person ever to win such prestigious award.

I'm talking of no other person than Malala Yousafzai. The girl from Pakistan who turned her adversity into triumph.

One thing I've come to realize about is life's setbacks and ugly circumstances are inevitable.

Some are caused by our own undoing, while others are as a result of unforseen causes.

Notwithstanding, these life challenges did not happen to us break us. Of course, they might be duaghting, tedious and even unbearable. But, these things happened to us to MAKE US.

They happened to us to make us tougher and stronger. They happened to us to make us better not bitter. They happened to us to teach us life's hard lessons. They happened to us for a reason.

One of the reasons is that they equip you with the necessary knowledge to help others going through similar situations on how to overcome them based on how you overcame yours.

That is to say, "the methods and how's" you used in overcoming those challenges can be used to help others to also come out of their own predicament.

There are folks whose self esteem were bartered by one form of abuse or the other. They felt so unworthy, restrained and hate for self, but today, they are teaching and helping people to walk in confidence and boldness. Joyce Meyer is a typical example. She was sexually abused by her own biological father, she felt unworthy for many years, today she's a blessing to millions of lives through her ministry.

There are many others like her who turned their adversity into triumph and helping others to triumph too.

So my question to you is;

What is that circumstance that is giving you sleepless nights?

What is that thing that troubles your being?

First of all believe that you'll come out of it

Maybe God allowed it to equip you to be of help to others going through same.

We humans are interdependent. Your experience could be of great help to those going through tough times in their lives.

Sharing your stories might motivate and inspire someone out there, activating something in their lives that would move them from where they are to where they want to be.

So, when next you're going through any challenges, ask yourself what is it that God wants me to learn through this difficult situation? How can I use its lessons to help others? The answer are right there inside.

Having this kind of mindset will definitely help you see positive things even in the midst of tribulations, challenges and ugly circumstances.

I strongly believe that's what God wants us to see and learn in our trials. Together we can make our world a better place by helping others to come out victorious just as we did.

Circumstances are not curses. They happened to us for a purpose. Both the good, bad, ugly and unpleasant ones.

So never be shy about telling your stories and experiences you might be helping someone out there on how to turn their adversities into triumph.

Thank you.

Depression

The only time I could remember being close to someone who took his own life was when I still living in Lagos. It happened in Woleboyle street Ojo LGA where I reside.

That very morning, while we were preparing to go to shop at Alaba International Market we were acquainted by the news of one promising young lad who took his own life by drinking Ota-pia-pia (a local insecticide). Though, he left a written a note before committing suicide.

When heard about it, we were so mad at him simply because the note he had left said something about him not gaining admission after trying for two consecutive times. I was even infuriated the more, because I knew how long I stayed at home before I gained admission. I wish I’d met or knew him personally before the ugly incident. My story might have changed him.

“Why take your own life”, was the question on everyone’s lips. From the look of things, his parents were well to do; they were landlord in Lagos, and had a booming restaurant/pub house. What then could be the problem? I wondered too.

Back then I saw it as an outright foolishness for anyone to toe that line by taking his own life. I use to think like a typical Nigerian would in such cases, since his family was wealthy there’s no justification whatsoever for him doing such to himself. How shallow my thoughts were.

However, my perception on such as changed. I’ve come to realize that being wealthy doesn’t solve all your problems, it have limits. I’ve also come to realize that not everyone can bear or endure pain, abuse, rejection, hurt or disappointment for long; not everyone can cope with hardship or uncomfortable situations. To some, suicide is the gateway to end it all.

Dwelling on any of those problems for longer time may lead to depression, which on its own is a period of unhappiness or low morale which last longer than several weeks and may include ideation of self-inflicted injury or suicide. Depression is one sickness that has become prevalent in recent time. And if care is not taking, it will escalate to an alarming rate.

One sure way to heal from depression is to reach out to a true friend who has a listening ear, pouring out your heart to him or her will surely help to ease you up. In addition, seeking for medical help is highly recommendable.

I’m doing this because you matter. Never give in to those voices that keeps telling you, “Jump on that moving train or vehicle”, jump off from that cliff, bridge or building”, “I’m worthless”, “I’m a failure”, “I’m meaningless “, and so on and so forth. Tell those voices to SHUT UP!!!

Whenever those thoughts springs up start speaking positive affirmations into your life. Their effects are remarkable. Seek medical help or a friend to confide in (I’m always here if you need a friend to talk to). Doing these will gradually make those thoughts of suicide to fade away.

Life can be so unfair, but it is only when you’re alive that you can solve your problems. Despite how challenging life can be, we have to be resolute to forge ahead no matter what, for it is in overcoming life challenges that makes it interesting.

My dear, there is still more too life. Your life is precious. You worth more! Don’t end it just like that…be it what may it can be resolved. Hold on, pain ends. Time will heal you. In fact, no pain or hurt lasts forever. I know you are tough and you would choose to live.

Thank you.

You Become What You Believe

There was this movie I watched. In it, a family was haunted by a stalker. It happened that this stalker was really tormenting each and everyone in this family (the mother, father and their daughter).

What actually caught my attention was when this stalker hacked (He was an IT specialist) into wife's medical report and discovered she went for a cancer test and is expecting her result. This guy called the woman pretending to be a doctor calling from the hospital she did the test and told her that her cancer test came out positive.

As soon as she heard those words, her countenance changed immediately. The next day she started having symptoms of the illness she diagnosed. Her body began to deteriorate...

While the family was finding ways to overcome the torments of this stalker, a call from the doctor at the hospital told her the cancer test result she did was out and she was negative, no trace of the element was in her system and nothing was wrong with her.

As she heard that she had a huge sigh of relief and began to feel normal again from that moment. It became obvious to her that the first caller was the stalker.

After seen all these played out I began to ponder why did she had those symptoms of that cancer despite been negative? Why did her body begin to deteriorate? Why did she begin to feel better after the main doctor called?

As I pondered these questions, the only reason why she had those symptoms or later felt better was that her subconscious mind accepted it and she believed it to be true in both cases.

This further buttress the point that OUR BELIEFS on anything will definitely become OUR REALITY.

The question now is, "What are you believing?"

If you believe that you'll never meet the right woman/man for you and get married, unfortunately, you probably won't.

If you believe that you won't be successful in an endeavour you want to embark upon, be rest assured you won't.

If you believe that this sickness will take your life, it will.

If you believe that you'll never get out of debt, you won't!

If you believe that your life will be filled with complaints, lack and miserable, then that's what you'll keep seeing.

There are no two ways about it.

Now you've known this truth: You're going to BECOME what you BELIEVE. Why not use it to your own advantage?

Start believing that you're blessed.

Believe that whatsoever you're going through is only a phase and you'll come out of it.

Believe that your best days are ahead of you.

Believe that you're gifted, talented, healthy, strong, creative, successful, confident, and a blessing to others.

Believe on these things and expect the best and it will definitely be your reality.

One peculiar thing I've come to realize in this life is that the elements of this world will always conspire to bring your most dominant beliefs to pass for you in your life.

So, it is important you use this power to your advantage.

I do it intentionally after discovered this secret. I wake up and tell myself; It is well with me, man/woman/God will favour me today, I am strong, I am a success, I am a blessing to life and my best days are in front of me. They all turn out to be so for I dwell on these positives and I believe it strongly in my heart to be so for me.

You too can.

Start believing for the best for yourself.

For you become what you believe.

I leave you with a question: What will you start believing for yourself from now on?

Drop in comment.

Just a Little Romance

It was on a good Saturday morning. I went to the hospital to take my injection for the day, and also collect the remaining drugs that wasn't in store the previous day.

As soon as I got there, i walked straight to the pharmacy section hoping to meet the pharmacist who attended to me on Friday. But I was shocked beyond words when I met a woman who was ravishing even from afar instead of him.

From the crown of her head to the sole of her feet was stunning. She's a typical example of what beautiful is. I couldn't help but admire all what my eyes could behold. She was breathtaking. The more I looked the faster my heart raced.

I exclaimed, "God really did an exceptional job here when creating her. She's indeed one of a kind."

It happened that she was the one who's to attend to me. I composed myself, greeted her, "Good afternoon ma (I noticed a wedding band on her)." She responded cordially and asked how she could be of assistance to me.

I told her what I came for, then showed her my card and the drug lists. She took it, went to the store, got the drugs and the injections. She gave them to me.
After she attended to me, I couldn't help but to tell her, 'Wow, you look very beautiful.'
As soon as I let out those words, she smiled from ear to ear. She blushed uncontrollably as if Cinderella saw her Prince charming.
It was evident those words made her felt so elated.
I smiled back.
With a face filled with smiles, she said, "Thank you very much. What's your name?"

I responded, "I'm Chidi, what about you?"
"I'm Mrs Nwosu Amaka. You took me by surprise, but thanks Chidi, this means a lot," she said.
"You're really taking good care of yourself, keep it up ma. Let me go take my injection. See you some other times," I said.
"Okay Chidi, see you around," she said smiling.

As I took my leave, her eyes were fixated on me smiling as if she wants the conversation not to end.
As I walked out, I kept pondering why is she acting up all like this, could it be she don't get compliments from her husband or what? Because it was obvious her demeanor says it all.

On a second thought, why wouldn't a man compliment his woman every now and then? Don't they know women love these little things, especially when it comes from someone whom they truly love and cherish? I pondered.

Dear Married men, as a husband, providing money for the home welfare is as important as being romantic to your spouse.

You see those words you used on her during courtship, continue saying them in marriage.

Always compliment her new hairdo, her looks, dress, her pedicure, tell her sweet nonsense with all sincerity.
Take her by surprise and call her:
My love,
Sweetheart,
My sunshine,
My beautiful princess,
or
My joy...

For my igbo folks:
"Obim,"
"Obidiya,"
"Odim nu Obi,"
"Nnem,"
"Enenebe Jé ólú,"
"Ọma ma asa ahụ."
"Asam"
"Nkem,"
"Achalugom,"
"Udara micham"
"Ogoli dim mma"
"Ugobo Oyibom," Etc...

From time to time drop love notes in her bag or pin it on her mirror where she can see it...expressing what you love and cherish about her. Be creative about it.

Doing these little things will make your relationship never to be loveless. In fact it will spice up your relationship and make what the both of you share better.

In addition, you can add little touches (hugs, kisses on the forehead, hands, cheeks and lips) too coupled with those words. They (women) love these things a lot, it reassures them of your love towards them. Please do it with sincerity and not with ulterior motive.

Make out time to spend quality time with your sweetheart. At least twice a month take her out to a beautiful restaurant and eat out, telling her how beautiful she has made your life become since she came into your life. Don't worry about the kids they can stay at Aunts place...or better still plan a weekend getaway with the whole family.

Spoil your baby girl a little...buy her gifts irrespective of how independent she is. Women loves these things no matter how little the gifts are especially when it's coming from a sincere heart. Your sweetheart deserves all the love you can give. Shower her with it. Out of the blue, send her beautiful texts, recharge cards, money for one needs or the other and tell her I LOVE YOU.

Your romantic side shouldn't stop after kids, keep it flowing and rejuvenating by doing these little things every now and then. It increases the bond the both of you share and waxing it even stronger.

Please do these for the one you love. Don't let your marriage be just about sleeping and waking up together, raising kids, age and die, biko add romance in the mix and be spontaneous about it, you'll be glad you did. Thank you.

Dear married women, please continue to look good and beautiful. Don't stop taking good care of yourself even after childbirth. We (men) are mostly attracted by what we see... continue to look appealing and attractive to us.
Stop this habit of looking only so gorgeous outside but so tattered and unkept at home. It's a huge turn off I must tell you.
You got a role to play in this romance thing. Also reciprocate too, it boost your man's morale. You and your sweetheart are in this together. Don't shy too much lol, just enjoy the moment. Thank you.

The importance of romance in marriage can never be overemphasized. If the spark in yours has become dim, there's still time to lighting it up once again by doing any of these things I suggested above, it effects on your spouse will be so remarkable. For a person who feels appreciated will always give more than is expected.

Your marriage can be a bliss; just add a little romance.
😍😍😍
Thank you.

Someday Never Comes!

"Someday, I will read that book."

"Someday, I will start working out."

"Someday, I will write my book."

"Someday, I will upgrade my skills and earn more money."

"Someday, I'll get my finances under control and get out of debt."

"Someday, I will register for that professional course/program/exam."

"Someday, I will start my business."

"Someday, I will express my feelings to her/him."

"Someday, I work on myself to be a better person."

"Someday, I'll do all those things that I need to do to achieve my life goals."

"Someday, someday!"

But, the "Someday" never comes.

In fact, to tell you the truth, it will never come.

Take a close look to your calendar, can you find anything like "Someday" amongst the weekdays?

Your answer is as good as mine.

'Someday' isn't one of the 7 days in a week.

Why then do you use it so often on what you want to do?

"Someday" will make you never to get anything done nor achieve anything worthwhile.

In the end, when your feet can not carry you as it use to, you'll be full of regrets for actions you never took because you were waiting for someday to do them.

Someday and procrastination are synonymous.

Procrastination will not only steal your time, it ruin your life. For time is no one's friend. As the seconds pass, we are getting closer to our grave. It is a harsh reality that we all will face.

Therefore, it is very important we make judicious use of the short time we have do to what we ought to do.

Anything you can do now, never leave it for later. Do it already, and focus on other things. Start doing. Start small. Just start. It maybe hard, but it will get easy. Just begin.

Whenever you set out to do something, get on with it. Tomorrow is not guaranteed for anyone. Someday will never come.

For you to avoid regrets at your old age, you've got to discipline yourself to do what you should do, when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not.

Self discipline in this regard is the distinguishing factor between the unsuccessful and the successful in this life.

I know you want to be successful. We owe our future self that. Therefore, I urge you to delete that mentality of doing something "Someday" and replace it with start doing it "Now."

We all know it is hard to form new habits, but when you discipline yourself to be doing things now and not later, with little time it will internalize and become automatic and easy to practice. All habits are learnable. So learn this, it is for your own good.

No more someday.

Now.

Today.

Not later or tomorrow.

Start already!

Fix tangible dates and deadlines to goals.

Then get on with it.

Doing something each blessed day to get you closer to the goals.

Sooner or later you will surprise yourself with your achievements. Because you can achieve almost anything for yourself if you have the discipline to pay the price or do what you need to do and never give up.

I know you'll choose to take actions as from today, and stop relying on a 'someday' that never comes.

Take care and be all that you can be. Yes, you can.
