THE 5 SECRETS TO SETTING & ACCOMPLISHING YOUR 2023 GOALS

"If you aim for nothing, you will hit it every time." - Unknown

There was a young woman named Amaka who had always struggled with setting and achieving her goals. Over the years, She would make grandiose plans for the year ahead, but inevitably, she would get sidetracked and fall short of her objectives.

Frustrated with this pattern, Amaka decided to seek the help of a productivity coach who introduced her to the concept of SMART goals. SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound.

Amaka took this advice to heart and began setting SMART goals for herself.

She started by identifying a specific goal that she wanted to achieve, such as "I want to lose 20 pounds in the next 6 months." She then broke this goal down into smaller, measurable actions, like "I will go to the gym 3 times a week and track my food intake using a calorie tracking app."

By making her goals specific and measurable, Amaka was able to track her progress and stay motivated.

She also made sure that her goals were attainable, so that she wouldn't set herself up for disappointment. And by making her goals relevant and time-bound, Amaka was able to stay focused and stay on track.

As a result of setting SMART goals, Amaka was able to achieve her weight loss goal within the allotted time frame. She also noticed that setting SMART goals had a positive impact on other areas of her life as well. She became more organized and efficient, and she experienced a newfound sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

From that day on, Amaka made it a habit to set SMART goals for herself on other areas of her life, and she found that she was able to achieve much more than she ever thought possible.

She learned that setting SMART goals was an important key to success and she hoped to inspire others to do the same.

This could be you (A very happy Amaka) in every areas of your life if you truly want.

The year 2023 is fast approaching and going into it with no tangible goals in mind can be counterproductive to you.

In fact, setting goals is an important aspect of personal and professional development, as it can help you to define your priorities, focus your efforts, and measure your progress.

Goals can provide you with direction, motivation, and a sense of accomplishment, and they can also help you to stay on track and avoid becoming distracted or sidetracked.

Here are some tips for setting and achieving your goals:

1. Be specific: Goals should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). This means that your goals should be clear and well-defined, with specific criteria for success and a deadline for achieving them.

2. Make a plan: Once you have set your goals, it is important to create a plan for achieving them. This should include specific steps and action items that you will take to achieve your goals, as well as a timeline for completing them.

3. Monitor and adjust your progress: As you work towards achieving your goals, it is important to regularly monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed. This can help you to stay on track and ensure that you are making progress towards your goals.

4. Celebrate your successes: Achieving your goals can be a great accomplishment, and it is important to celebrate your successes. This can provide you with a sense of accomplishment and motivation to continue working towards your goals.

5. Stay committed and persistent: Achieving your goals can require hard work and dedication, and it is important to stay committed and persistent in pursuit of your goals. Don't be discouraged by setbacks or obstacles, and continue to work towards your goals even when it is difficult.

Overall, setting and achieving goals can be a powerful tool for personal and professional development. By setting and working towards specific, well-defined goals, you can improve your chances of success and achieve your goals more easily.

You might not see an instantaneous result, but keep at it, take courage, don't grow weary. Just keep putting your best foot forward and I promise you it will all add up and make real sense to you.

When you take action consistently, irrespective of how small it will result to great recognizable changes in a long run.

So, decide for yourself what is that tiny little step I need to be taking a consistent basis to get me closer to my goal in my finances, relationship, family, career, business, health etc and get on with it already.

IT IS TIME TO GIVE UP!!!

IT IS TIME TO GIVE UP!

Yes, you heard me correctly.

Is it Matthew that's filled with optimism and positiveness saying this?

Yes, it me.

Are you suprised?

You really need to give up. Now is the time for it because since you've been holding on did anything changed?

It's high time you told yourself the truth by yourself.

You really need to give up on relationships/friends that are draining you and adding no value to you.

You really need to give up on your comfort zones that's making you settle for mediocrity when you can actually become more.

Yes you need to give up on your geographic location were opportunities are really scarce and move to something better.

You really need to give up on some philosophies, mentality, limiting beliefs and ideologies that are hampering your progress as a human.

You really need to give up on lifestyles, eating & drinking habits and behavioral patterns that are deteriorating your health and well-being.

Please give up trying to stay in touch with people you've encountered in the past who has no interest in keeping the friendship. It makes no sense holding on to this.

Give up on jobs that are always making you feel unhappy, unappreciated and making you become physically and emotionally ill. If you eventually die on the job they will find your replacement the next day immediately.

You really need to give up on some businesses and endeavours that doesn't have hope of any promising returns or you can't visualize a positive outcome.

Give up on PROCRASTINATION; It will do you a lot harm and damage if you continue to hold on to it. It hasn't helped anyone before and yours wouldn't be different. Give up on it now!

Please give up overanalyzing and perfectionism, it will only lead you not to even take any step or start. Paralysis will step in if you keep holding on to overanalyzing.

Give up on listening to "What will people say" before embarking on a worthwhile quest. People will always talk whether you do good or not.

I've come to realize that blind persistence could turn into an overwhelming, exhausting and useless quest if you hold on to these.

Therefore, give up on these...even the scriptures support this notion, there's time to hold on and there's time to give up as loss (Ecc 3:6).

There's time for everything; giving up is one of them. You need to learn how to know "when" to give up and move on to something promising and better.

No doubt, deciding to give up on these might not be easy, but the fulfilling and joyful life experiences it will open up for you when you do is quite exhilarating.

So don't hesitate, giving up on these will set you on a path of growth, betterment, and fulfilment!

𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙄𝙨 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙛 𝙤𝙛 𝙅𝙤𝙮

If you want your JOY to be short-lived keep on comparing your realities to someone's highlights.

If you want your JOY to disappear even faster compare your chapter 2 to someone else's chapter 10.

In case you don't know, every minute you spend wishing you had someone else's life is a minute spent wasting yours.

But if you want something different for your joy to last, come to terms that "Life is a process."

Embrace that reality wholeheartedly and make it your watchword.

You don't plant apple seeds today and eat of its fruits the next day. It takes time, efforts, pruning, watering and care of the plant before it's ready for consumption.

Similarly, you don't get to chapter 10 in one single leap rather it's a gradual process that takes you from the start to that point.

Understand that no matter what there will always be people who are ahead of you, started before you and privileged than you.

Admire them but don't compare yourself, rather affirm to yourself that if they could do it or attain such height it is also possible for you too as long as you are putting efforts and playing your part in your own journey.

Are you progressing?

That should be your major concern. And you can know this by comparing where you are now to where you are a day before or a year ago, not by making someone else's your reference point.

It is only in this case you are allowed to compare, and from your reflections you will get to know if you're progressing or underperforming.

If it is the latter then you have to pinpoint where your lapses are and choose to make amend.

Stop letting things deliberately steal your joy and happiness with mindless comparison, maintain your lane, it's the best place to be at each moment in time.

Always know that You Deserve Better! So, stop engaging in things that makes you feel less and unhappy.

HUNGER WILL EAT YOU, YOUR DREAM & YOUR PASSION

"Let he who has ears hear."

Please, don’t sack your boss yet.
Also, don’t quit your 9-5 job just yet to follow your dreams and passions.
“e get why.”
I know you must have heard some speakers saying one of these;
“You can never be wealthy working as an employee.”
“Salary is the bribe they pay you to forever remain as a slave.”
“Job is modern day slavery’’ and many others.
To some extents those statement might be true but one thing they fail to tell you is that the road to entrepreneurship is really tough and hard. It is not a roller coaster.
Do you know that Jeff Bezos the owner of AMAZON worked for 10 good years without making any profits? NETFLIX you know very well was running at a loss for so many years before they hit their major breakthrough recently.
Can you pull that off? Though, it is possible but it is not easy.
I am not here to scare you but to set the record straight because of recent I’ve been reading many posts shading “Motivational Speakers” on this subject.
They will only inspire and motivate you, show you the way, it is your job to act on it and follow through, and most importantly listen to those who walk their talk because talk is cheap.
So, before you think of quitting your 9-5 job, ensure that you are willing to give more than that time in that business you intend to start. And most importantly, ensure that you have saved enough money to cater for your feeding, a place to sleep and sustaining the business you are about to start.
It is very vital and non-negotiable, because if you chose to follow only your dreams and passion without first meeting these basic needs, I won’t lie to you, HUNGER WILL EAT YOU, YOUR DREAM AND YOUR PASSION.
It is important you take cognizance of this life’s reality.
If your present job is providing you some sort of cash flows no matter how little; save as much as you can and invest with it, from the returns of your investment you can use it to chase or fuel your dreams and passions.
It will get to a stage you can easily quit your job and it won’t be detrimental to you in anyway.
Meanwhile, love where you are until you can be where you love, and also, learn some financial management skills, interpersonal relationship, organization structure and how to sell yourself, they will come in handy for you in a long run.
Don't put yourself in harms way, because you deserve better!
Thank you.

FAILING IS A GOOD THING

"Your failures is an intellectual property."

I remember speaking to some student last year in their school, and one of the points in my speech was “Failing is a good thing.”
When I mentioned that point they looked surprised, and paid more keen attention to what I wanted to say next. Some of their teachers in our midst were not left out; I could sense the astonishment on their faces.
Their reactions didn’t come to me as a surprise because I could remember how they instilled that “Fear of failing” in us back then in school. They made so much emphasis on it that many students live throughout school with that constant fear.
Many individuals today are still within that bondage unconsciously. Our parents also added to it with how they beat us or scolded us terribly for any slight mistakes when we were young.
This particular fear has become so etched into so many lives that they hardly make any attempt to try anything new.
It has killed novel ideas, paralyzed dreams and thwarted major breakthroughs individual could have achieved if they’d followed through.
It has always made most individuals to settle for less, the status quo or play second fiddle to other frontiers.
To change the narrative we need to change how we see “Failing”, for when we change the way we look at things, the things we look at changes.
Failing in itself is not a bad thing rather it is a learning process to do things better.
So, don’t let the fear stop you from chasing your dreams or even giving it a try.
What if you succeed, have you thought about that?
Even if it results to the opposite; pick yourself up, learn from it and strategies not to repeat it that way again. In other words, fail forward and not quitting or giving up.
In case you don’t know your failures is even an intellectual property that you can use to teach others so they won’t repeat your mistakes and you can also earn cool money from rendering that service.
You deserve better, please don’t let fear of failing deprive you of that.
In 2020, no dulling o. Take that bold step by starting today because your dreams are possible.
Put your right hand across your heart and repeat after me these sentence as many times you want until it internalizes: “I WILL NOT LET THE FEAR OF FAILING STOP ME AGAIN!”
#MattCares  wants the best for you. Keep having an awesome year. Much love and God bless.

FOUNDATION

I onced supervised a house project in the village and I noticed how tedious it was to build the foundation.

In fact it is one of the most painstaking aspect of building a house.

Despite all the effort put in to build it, it's later covered with concrete when done, no one sees it or talk about it.

The only time you'll hear people talk about it is when the building falls or have cracks. At that time everyone seems to fault the foundation of the building.

Because a foundation has to be built strong enough so it can carry the weight of anything it was designed for.

Maybe you are presently at that stage of building your own life's foundation.

It will definitely be tough, painstaking, tasking and hard to build, but it is necessary because it will be the very foundation that will hold you up for the rest of your life.

So, I'll urge you to make yours stronger.

When we marvel at beautiful edifice note that their foundations were even deeper to hold what you and I admire.

It all depends on how you want it.

Make it stronger.

In the course of building yours, you'll feel the pain or the nudge to give up, when you feel such, path yourself on the back and say, "My future self will thank me. I need to go through these necessary process in order to enjoy my success."

When you start seeing the pain, stress and hard work you put in this way, they won't look burdensome or overwhelming to you rather something you need to do to get to where you have always dream of.

It has to be hard so it can support the weight of whatever you could dream of for yourself.

So, whatever challenge or struggle you're been going through are there to prepare you for what's coming especially your dreams.

I know you dream of a beautiful and magnificent edifice.

So, embrace it wholeheartedly because you can and you'll be glad you did.
