If you want your JOY to be short-lived keep on comparing your realities to someone's highlights.

If you want your JOY to disappear even faster compare your chapter 2 to someone else's chapter 10.

In case you don't know, every minute you spend wishing you had someone else's life is a minute spent wasting yours.

But if you want something different for your joy to last, come to terms that "Life is a process."

Embrace that reality wholeheartedly and make it your watchword.

You don't plant apple seeds today and eat of its fruits the next day. It takes time, efforts, pruning, watering and care of the plant before it's ready for consumption.

Similarly, you don't get to chapter 10 in one single leap rather it's a gradual process that takes you from the start to that point.

Understand that no matter what there will always be people who are ahead of you, started before you and privileged than you.

Admire them but don't compare yourself, rather affirm to yourself that if they could do it or attain such height it is also possible for you too as long as you are putting efforts and playing your part in your own journey.

Are you progressing?

That should be your major concern. And you can know this by comparing where you are now to where you are a day before or a year ago, not by making someone else's your reference point.

It is only in this case you are allowed to compare, and from your reflections you will get to know if you're progressing or underperforming.

If it is the latter then you have to pinpoint where your lapses are and choose to make amend.

Stop letting things deliberately steal your joy and happiness with mindless comparison, maintain your lane, it's the best place to be at each moment in time.

Always know that You Deserve Better! So, stop engaging in things that makes you feel less and unhappy.

"Let he who has ears hear."

Please, don’t sack your boss yet.
Also, don’t quit your 9-5 job just yet to follow your dreams and passions.
“e get why.”
I know you must have heard some speakers saying one of these;
“You can never be wealthy working as an employee.”
“Salary is the bribe they pay you to forever remain as a slave.”
“Job is modern day slavery’’ and many others.
To some extents those statement might be true but one thing they fail to tell you is that the road to entrepreneurship is really tough and hard. It is not a roller coaster.
Do you know that Jeff Bezos the owner of AMAZON worked for 10 good years without making any profits? NETFLIX you know very well was running at a loss for so many years before they hit their major breakthrough recently.
Can you pull that off? Though, it is possible but it is not easy.
I am not here to scare you but to set the record straight because of recent I’ve been reading many posts shading “Motivational Speakers” on this subject.
They will only inspire and motivate you, show you the way, it is your job to act on it and follow through, and most importantly listen to those who walk their talk because talk is cheap.
So, before you think of quitting your 9-5 job, ensure that you are willing to give more than that time in that business you intend to start. And most importantly, ensure that you have saved enough money to cater for your feeding, a place to sleep and sustaining the business you are about to start.
It is very vital and non-negotiable, because if you chose to follow only your dreams and passion without first meeting these basic needs, I won’t lie to you, HUNGER WILL EAT YOU, YOUR DREAM AND YOUR PASSION.
It is important you take cognizance of this life’s reality.
If your present job is providing you some sort of cash flows no matter how little; save as much as you can and invest with it, from the returns of your investment you can use it to chase or fuel your dreams and passions.
It will get to a stage you can easily quit your job and it won’t be detrimental to you in anyway.
Meanwhile, love where you are until you can be where you love, and also, learn some financial management skills, interpersonal relationship, organization structure and how to sell yourself, they will come in handy for you in a long run.
Don't put yourself in harms way, because you deserve better!
Thank you.

"Your failures is an intellectual property."

I remember speaking to some student last year in their school, and one of the points in my speech was “Failing is a good thing.”
When I mentioned that point they looked surprised, and paid more keen attention to what I wanted to say next. Some of their teachers in our midst were not left out; I could sense the astonishment on their faces.
Their reactions didn’t come to me as a surprise because I could remember how they instilled that “Fear of failing” in us back then in school. They made so much emphasis on it that many students live throughout school with that constant fear.
Many individuals today are still within that bondage unconsciously. Our parents also added to it with how they beat us or scolded us terribly for any slight mistakes when we were young.
This particular fear has become so etched into so many lives that they hardly make any attempt to try anything new.
It has killed novel ideas, paralyzed dreams and thwarted major breakthroughs individual could have achieved if they’d followed through.
It has always made most individuals to settle for less, the status quo or play second fiddle to other frontiers.
To change the narrative we need to change how we see “Failing”, for when we change the way we look at things, the things we look at changes.
Failing in itself is not a bad thing rather it is a learning process to do things better.
So, don’t let the fear stop you from chasing your dreams or even giving it a try.
What if you succeed, have you thought about that?
Even if it results to the opposite; pick yourself up, learn from it and strategies not to repeat it that way again. In other words, fail forward and not quitting or giving up.
In case you don’t know your failures is even an intellectual property that you can use to teach others so they won’t repeat your mistakes and you can also earn cool money from rendering that service.
You deserve better, please don’t let fear of failing deprive you of that.
In 2020, no dulling o. Take that bold step by starting today because your dreams are possible.
Put your right hand across your heart and repeat after me these sentence as many times you want until it internalizes: “I WILL NOT LET THE FEAR OF FAILING STOP ME AGAIN!”
#MattCares  wants the best for you. Keep having an awesome year. Much love and God bless.

I onced supervised a house project in the village and I noticed how tedious it was to build the foundation.

In fact it is one of the most painstaking aspect of building a house.

Despite all the effort put in to build it, it's later covered with concrete when done, no one sees it or talk about it.

The only time you'll hear people talk about it is when the building falls or have cracks. At that time everyone seems to fault the foundation of the building.

Because a foundation has to be built strong enough so it can carry the weight of anything it was designed for.

Maybe you are presently at that stage of building your own life's foundation.

It will definitely be tough, painstaking, tasking and hard to build, but it is necessary because it will be the very foundation that will hold you up for the rest of your life.

So, I'll urge you to make yours stronger.

When we marvel at beautiful edifice note that their foundations were even deeper to hold what you and I admire.

It all depends on how you want it.

Make it stronger.

In the course of building yours, you'll feel the pain or the nudge to give up, when you feel such, path yourself on the back and say, "My future self will thank me. I need to go through these necessary process in order to enjoy my success."

When you start seeing the pain, stress and hard work you put in this way, they won't look burdensome or overwhelming to you rather something you need to do to get to where you have always dream of.

It has to be hard so it can support the weight of whatever you could dream of for yourself.

So, whatever challenge or struggle you're been going through are there to prepare you for what's coming especially your dreams.

I know you dream of a beautiful and magnificent edifice.

So, embrace it wholeheartedly because you can and you'll be glad you did.

Every expert you know or you've seen or heard of irrespective of his/her field or expertise was once an amateur who barely could find their footing.

That prolific writer that you marveled at each of his work, was once finding it difficult to make out something with words.

That outstanding public speaker, was once so afraid, nervous and shy like a cat.

That amazing artist at one time couldn't make anything appealing on their canvas.

That very successful business wo(man) was once trying just to get by and survive.

Today, their stories has changed.

They never achieved those laudable individual feat in the twinkling of an eye.

It took time, patience, perseverance and persistence, and consistency in whatever endeavor they engaged in until they hit gold mine. Most importantly, they took the first step and they are still improving by the day.

What am i trying to say is that success in life is in stages.

You'll get there eventually, not all at once, but a step at a time.

So embrace the process (ups & downs, delays and disappointments, rejections) wholeheartedly. It's part of the journey.

It makes no sense competing so hard just to gain relevance (vain glory), rather focus on working on self.

In fact your top priority should be to improve on the man/woman you were yesterday, maintaining your lane while doing it and be consistent.

Time will definitely come that you don't need to introduce yourself, your work and services will do the talking for you and they will be the ones to introduce themselves to you.

Take that leap of faith with your first step and see a whole new world open for you.

"If you want to kill a dream, vision or an idea tell it to a small minded person." They will shoot it down because they can’t see it as you do.

In fact, sometimes people will tell you what you can’t do or accomplish because they don’t see themselves achieving it.
Here is an advice: You need to break free from such people. They are limited in their minds. Note, these set of people can be anyone. It could be a close relative or a friend.
You really need to break free from sharing your dreams with such people, especially those one that each time you share an idea, a new way of doing things or a business idea you are willing to explore but they are quick to tell you 5 reasons that your idea won’t work.
If Tummy Tummy Noodles were looking were looking at how other Noodles were doing in the market and used that as an excuse for not starting their brand would they be where they are now? NO!
It is the same with Fibi sausage roll and many other new brands we see today in the market, despite the competition in the market they came out unique, and today they are household commodities Nigerian’s can’t do without.
The point I am driving at is this, stop telling or listening to these kind of friends or relatives that always want to thwart that your idea. They just want you to remain at that their level.
“Stagnant Entities” is what I call them. Year in year out their lives are always the same, no form of progress whatsoever. Is that the kind of person you should be listening to? They don’t worth it. Anyway, you can keep them as acquaintance if you choose.
Let your success shock them to the bone to the extent they will be the one to start telling others; “…that guy/lady na my paddy o”, “we lived in the same street”, “we come from the same village”, "yen yen bla bla."
Keep your dreams alive, they are valid. If you could conceive the idea you can achieve them and make them a reality by your actions, strategies, doggedness, determination, commitment and perseverance to see it through.
Our world today is ruled by ideas. New inventions, concepts and breakthroughs all emanates from an idea. So never let yours (ideas) die because of what one or two friends said.
Most of the great business mogul we see today started with just an idea and by following it through. You’re of no difference. You too can achieve whatsoever you set your mind and heart to.
So go on my friend and be all that you can be because you can!

YOU ARE ENOUGH! (How to stop comparing YOURSELF with anyone on SOCIAL MEDIA)

"Every minute you spend wishing you had
someone else's life is a minute spent wasting yours."

That very moment you left her/his social medal wall did you feel inadequate? Did you feel you deserve that same thing they have? Did you ask yourself, why not me? Did you feel like you're not enough? Did you feel less of yourself?

If your answer is yes to any of these, then you have a big problem. You're simply comparing your reality to their highlights.

It's not the best way to live, because that act of comparing yourself to what you see on social media is so counterproductive. It messes you up. It makes you feel anxious, troubled and disturbed. It puts unnecessary pressure on yourself to measure up. It breeds envy and it's a sure path to fall into depression.

My friend the only person you should compare yourself with is man or woman you were a day before. Not them(Social media friends), not anyone but who you are previously.

The thing is that life is a journey not a destination. Your timing is much different than theirs. We're on different Lanes in this journey. Your job is is to remain focus on yours and keep working to improve. Yes, their grass maybe greener, keep watering yours. All seems well with them, don't worry you'll get there eventually. Everything happens with time and seasons likewise blessings.

When next you see them showcasing one achievement or the other, go there and say a hearty congratulations to the person and add I am so happy for you, I am glad you're so happy my dear. And move on to the next.

Resist that temptation of tapping into it, shouting I am next in line. Wishing why not me? Asking yourself, what am I doing wrong? What is wrong with me? Do they have two heads? Is my own world worst? Where is my God?

Querying yourself this way will never bring out the best in you rather it give you many more negatives that would dampen your spirit and make you feel less of yourself. Our minds tend to dwell more on the negatives. This is one aspect of your life you need to get hold of and tell it to focus on the positives.

You are not them!
You are you.
You are enough.
We're all unique in our different ways.

Maintain your lane at your own pace, it's the best place to be. Though you can ask how they pulled it through and replicate it in your own journey but not wishing you are them.

So stop mindless comparison. It does more harm than good. Stop living to prove anyone wrong or to tell people that you have arrived. Live your best life as much as you can not for them but for you. Stop letting what you see here dictate your life for you. Stop using their lives as a yardstick for yours. Some don't even care and you're killing yourself to measure up.

Is that the best way to live?
I am sharing this because I love you and I want the best for you.
Also note that there are no perfect humans out there, we've all got stint of flaws...if not many, despite the perfectism many portray here(social media).

Therefore, stop ruining your life with the feeling of inadequacy from what you see here, although there are positives to pick here, just do your best and leave the rest, you'll be alright.

Your own set time is coming. You're enough. Keep doing the best you can in all areas of your life and enjoy every moment of this journey.

MattCares is rooting for you, and I can assure you it will end well when you stop wishing you are them and embrace yourself wholeheartedly and choose to be better than the person you were the day before.

One love
